PADI Open Water Certification $440
The PADI Open Water certification is the first diver rating you need to begin a lifelong passion for scuba diving in Cozumel and around the world. It is the minimum certification level at which scuba divers are allowed to rent scuba gear and cylinders for truly independent diving but we like to think of it as the doorway to adventure!
The PADI “Open Water Diver” certification requires training by a qualified PADI scuba instructor conducted in three different phases:
- Academic Theory, Knowledge Reviews and a Final Exam – the “book work.”
- 5 Confined Water Dive – Learn and practice the skills that will make you a safe and independent scuba diver.
- 4 Open Water Dives – Demonstrate those skills learned in confined water in conditions typically encountered by certified divers.
Upon completion of the course, the Open Water diver may dive with a similarly certified dive buddy to a maximum depth not to exceed 60 feet / 18 meters. Junior Divers (10 to 14 years old) have strict depth limits that depend upon their age and activity while with a PADI professional and/or parent & guardian. PADI Junior Open Water Diver certifications automatically change to a PADI Open Water certification when the diver turns 15 years old.
Open Water Diver “Referral Course” $285
Have you already completed the classroom and in-pool training required for your Open Water Diver certification with another training agency or scuba instructor and still need to complete the open water dives? We can help! Bring us your completed academic and confined water training record filled out by a PADI, NAUI, SSI or SDI instructor. Once we’ve completed a brief knowledge review and skills check we’ll head out for 4 open water dives conducted over 2 days. When we’re through, you’ll be a confident and safe PADI certified Open Water Diver!
Enriched Air Diver (NITROX)* $270
Enriched Air or EANx, most commonly known as “Nitrox”, is our most popular PADI specialty course – and for good reason: Raising the oxygen content in the air you breathe provides several MAJOR benefits while scuba diving, the primary one being longer bottom times in Cozumel! There are no certification prerequisites for this course other than being enrolled in an Open Water Diver (or Junior Open Water) course and be at least 12 years of age.
PADI Advanced Open Water Diver & Junior A.O.W. Diver $370
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification is essentially the second scuba diver certification that opens up a world of diving possibilities and a new pathway to even more advanced specialty diving scuba certifications! The only prerequisite is that you have completed the PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification course. With the assistance of your ScubaLuis scuba instructor you will select 3 adventure dives in which you will explore various new underwater activities, like underwater photography, fish identification, night diving and many other options. Additionally, you will also complete a required deep dive and an underwater navigation dive.
Upon completion of this course, the Advanced Open Water diver may dive with a similarly certified dive buddy to a maximum depth not to exceed 100 feet / 30 meters. Junior Divers (10 to 14 years old) have strict depth limits that depend upon their age and activity while with a PADI professional and/or parent & guardian. PADI Junior Open Water Diver certifications automatically change to a PADI Open Water certification when the diver turns 15 years old.
PADI Rescue Diver Certification $370
Our PADI Rescue Diver certification training clients all essentially tell us the same thing when they’re finished – that learning to become a rescue diver is as transformative as it is challenging. They also say this ScubaLuis course is FUN! The Rescue Diver course is the first diving certification in which scuba divers learn to start caring for their fellow dive buddies beyond pre-dive buddy checks and managing an underwater gear failure. Rescue divers learn how to recognize the signs and symptoms of distressed divers and confidently respond to genuine medical emergencies should it become necessary.
Prepare to be someone’s hero – earn your PADI Rescue Diver certification next time you’re in Cozumel.
PADI Divemaster Certification in Cozumel $1,000
Divemasters are professional divers and as such carry a great amount of responsibility for planning a dive, conducting boat and dive safety, and then assisting other divers during a dive. Often they act as guides giving other divers the opportunity to enjoy their dive without needing to worry about navigation, planning, not knowing the conditions or marine life, etc. The ScubaLuis divemaster training (DMT) program is a thorough course of practical experience and study that employers demand. We will prepare you for a fantastic career rooted in adventure and the mystery of the sea in which no two days will ever be the same!
